Christian Kicked Out of Colorado Christian
University for 9/11 & Anti-War Stance
This statement was sent in from Raymond Schwab, (Brother Raymond).
November 10, 2006
Tonight I stood in the cold evening displaying a sign on a public sidewalk which stated "Real Christians Don't Choose War" in front of my school, Colorado Christian University. On the other side of the parking lot in front oft he North entrance stood my wife and another friend Eliott Nesch with similar signs. Elliot preached on the corner about the injustice of war. Six o'clock was nearing so I handed off my signs and headed inside to class. A still tension filled the air. I sat in my seat and watched as two administrators pulled my instructor from the classroom. Moments later they walked back in, stood in front of my seat and told me to gather my supplies and leave the classroom. Silence. The introductions continued and the instructor skipped over me and pretended an injustice was not occurring before her eyes.
I slowly packed up my laptop and other books. As I stood to leave I looked around to see if anyone had the courage to speak out to what they were witnessing. All eyes went to the floor. We walked into the hallway. I was informed because I had posted something online twice (It was removed once) in my biography section of the online portion of the course I was being kicked out of school. I looked at the two administrators with tears in my eyes asking them to consider what they were doing. They stood firm, proud and stood by their story. I asked them to at least give me the respect to be honest about why they were kicking me out. I had been speaking to them for months to develop a forum to discuss the Christian response to 9/11 and the wars which followed. They knew I was about to walk across the country to protest the war and yet still insisted it was about the post.
The post was a biography to introduce myself to the class. Here is what was contained:
Hi, my name is Raymond Schwab, I am thirty one, married with four kids. My life revolves around preaching the gospel and issues of justice and peace which is why I am rabidly against the war in Iraq. Here is an example of a handout created:
THE WAR ON TERROR IS AN UNJUST WAR, REPENT CHURCH!
War in Iraq violates every historic just war tenet:
Just Cause: Force may be used only to correct a grave public evil or in self-defense; Wars of retaliation are historically forbidden and yet the invasion of both Iraq and Afghanistan were based on rooting out terror. Also forbidden are preemptive strikes. There are many questions to the official conspiracy theory of 9/11.
(see http://www.911truth.org/ )
Comparative Justice: the injustice suffered by one party must significantly outweigh that suffered by the other; America lost 3,000 on 9/11 and upward of 4,000+ in the war. Iraq has lost 45,000 innocent civilians both from our military and insurgents. The Iraqi people suffer extreme hardship and loss of basic necessities while Americans are sheltered from the consequences.
Legitimate Authority: Only a proper authority can declare war. The Declaration for the use of force was based on faulty and twisted evidence. The Bush administration lied to the American public and the Congress. Now he states Iraq had no ties to Osama and they had nothing to do with Iraq.
(See Iraq Uncovered http://www.truthuncovered.com/ )
Right Intention: Force may be used only in a truly just cause and solely for that purpose- correcting a suffered wrong is considered a right intention, while material gain or maintaining economies is not. American companies have profited billions while we privatize services and use mercenary armies (Black Water Corp). Watch "The War Profiteers"
Probability of Success: Arms may not be used in a futile cause or in a case where disproportionate measures are required to achieve success; Bush states this war on terror could last ten years with no overall public plan. The situation in Iraq has deteriorated into anarchy.
The British soldiers realize this is a mess: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...5/1012/LOCAL17
Proportionality: The overall destruction expected from the use of force must be outweighed by the good to be achieved. America is saturating Iraq with Depleted Uranium causing a huge increase in health defects in children, adults and our troops.
Last Resort: Force may be used only after all peaceful and viable alternatives have been seriously tried and exhausted. What options were tried or exhausted prior to the invasion of countries post 9/11?
For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will restrain, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Real Christians Do Not Choose War!
I had one response from a student that stated he was sad I was still judging people but he was glad to have me in another class. I responded that lack of judgment is not a noble Christian characteristic but symptomatic of an immature faith. The next day I checked to see if he responded and both of our posts were gone. I was surprised and emailed the instructor to ask her what happened. Here is the email:
No worries, but who are you? I can't tell from your e-mail address, and you did not sign off on your correspondence.
If it's still not showing on e-companion, can you e-mail it to me, or bring it in in hard copy tonight?

Subject: Where is my autobiography?
It seems my autobiography has disappeared from the e-companion. I will repost. I hope if you removed it, it does not effect my grade.
She responded and I did not repost after this email:
Raymond, your biography is in violation of the CCU policy and has been removed. If you would like to tone it down and just stay with the questions asked, that will be fine, but no political discussions apply to this class. This was the question which we were asked in the online assignment:
Your professor and fellow students would like to know something about you. Please read your professor's biography and post your personal biography information. In your response, provide the question number followed by your response to each question for ease of reading.
1. Where were you born or raised? (Home town?)
2. In what city do you live now?
3. What is your occupation or profession?
4. Where are you currently working? [Optional]
5. Are you married? If so, do you have any children? How many?
6. Do you have any pets to which you are particularly attached?
7. What is your personal goal and reason for participating in
8. What are your expectations for this course?
9. If you would you like to share your testimony, feel free to do
so here? [Optional]
Obviously they did not want to know something about me. Now I have been humiliated, removed from my educational institution, and silenced. The fact of the matter is I had been preparing to do a forum on the main campus called "(9/11 to Iraq: A Christian Response). My school had threatened me in the past to be silent about 9/11 and the unjustness of the war. Here is an email from another administrator Jim McCormick:
This is an official warning that if you come onto campus and try in any way to recruit, protest, advertise, demonstrate, or otherwise disrupt the campus community you will be immediately escorted off and university discipline will come into play. Enter the campus again after that and you will be arrested.

Slowly we walked to the door. I pleaded with them from the word to no avail. Realizing I was miles from my home I asked to use the phone to call a ride. I was informed in no way could I use anything from the University. I walked out the front door and turned to speak to them. They shut the door, locked it in my face and turned away to leave me in the cold.
Thank you Colorado Christian University.
